Default cold water fishing

Just curious i was planning on going fishing tomorrow in the south platte in deckers and was wondering if anyone has any good spin casting lures suggestions or techniques for catching lethargic trout in these cold waters this early in the season. I dont usually go fishing this early in the season but when i have I usually see tons of fish but extremely difficult to make em move. thanx for any help

- black and or brown marabou jigs, cast them upstream and hop them back down.

- Slow worked rapalas, countdowns for deeper pools

The fish will only move so far for a meal................accurate casting and a slower presention is necessary. I'd go small......whatever bait you choose............and do your best to sight fish.

I fish the Deckers area quite a bit and you will have success on salmon eggs. You can only fish with bait from Scraggy View northward though! As far as lures, I would try small panther martins or small fox spinners as the water level is very low and cast upstream into "holes". You will find out that you will spook a lot of potential fish if you do not try to sneak up on them when fishing with lures there right now. Good luck!
