Default Pueblo........From Shore?

Was pondering where i wanna go fishing this weekend. Gunna buy my 09 license on friday and head out on saturday.

I have never been to pueblo and was thinking thaty i might roll down there for the day. My only delay is that i have NO BOAT and will be fishing from shore.

Could this still end up being a worth while trip? Whats the chance i will actually catch something from shore?

Any tips hints personal opinions are greatly apreciated! Especially PM's

Thanks in advance for any info/opinions provided!

I tried from shore yesterday. Caught something.....black and white....

Smallies and eyes are usually easy to get from shore in late April or May. Fish in the evenings if you really want fish. I could prolly go out after dark tonight and catch 1 or 2 eyes....but that's past my bedtime during the week.

Haven't been skunked from shore yet this year at Pueblo.....once darkness falls.

Kyle
it is not your first time at the lake, you have been fishing it for years. for a first timer here the chances are slim to none till the fish of all species git much more active and the water warms up 20 deg

This is true. Even I can't catch em from shore during the day though. It's rough this time of year. That water sure was pretty yesterday though. Crystal clear to about 15ft deep. I could see my crankbait/spinnerbait/tube rolling along the bottom 20 feet out! I kept imagining some big fish from the depths roaring in and inhaling it. But it never happened.

My advice to beginners is: fish after dark. Throw jerkbaits from shore. You probably won't be disappointed.

RV....try anywhere near the dam on either shore....or the west end.

... all of the above!
the warm spell we had bumped everything up 2-3 weeks. the eyes and wipers started early. then the cold snap came and dropped the water temp from low 50's to mid 40's... screwed up the whole shootin' match. they're even having a tough time getting fish in the nets for the egg collection. i'd go fishin' with low expectations of catchin... but that just makes it all the better if you DO smack the black and white kitty

HMMMM. Well I was planning on going during the day since I have to wake up early Sunday to do the easter thing.(Got 2 kids so should be a blast)

Not sounding too good for a daytime trip down there so maybe i will just go elseware this time and keep pueblo in mind for a couple weeks out.

Any suggestions on somewherer that is doing well for any warm water species within an hour or 2 from Littleton?

Any word on any catfish action anywhere in Co?

Anyone else going out on saturday that might want to meet up?
