Default "HIGH" lakes south side of Pikes Peak

Have the day off tomorrow. Thinking of taking the kiddos out. I'm looking at an atlas at the seven lakes area just south of Pikes Peak. Anyone fish these? How is access? I have 4wd.
Thanks
Ryan

I'm not sure if they still do but the state used to used them as hatchery lakes for Greenbacks. We used to sneak in and fish them all the time in high school, had we been caught they would have taken away our birthdays.

Might want to try Nichols Reservoir below Rampart, I just heard the fishing has been very productive there.

I've caught greenbacks on the outlet stream from there, and I wish they would open it up to fishing, but until then Rosemont isn't bad, bows, splake, snake river cutts and most are willing to take a kasty.
