Default Is the ice off of Georgetown yet?

I'm guessing no, but I need a status report if you have one.

Today I felt like using Power Bait and hanging out with my dogs, so I was going to head to G-town, but had a change of heart at I-70 and Morrison exit, and went to Bear Creek instead. Naturally I didn't catch a damn thing, but it was a beautiful afternoon and the dogs were stoked to be out.

Went to Dick's this evening with the girlfriend and stocked up on curly tails, bubbles, 1/16 oz heads and hope for a great spring. Now bring on that 10" of snow to ruin my buzz, man.

It's open from shore for the most part but not totally.

No bites, nibbles, bumps or sniffs. Whatevs, I didn't try that hard.

This storm is effing up my program, man. I was planning on hitting it hard this week since I have some evenings to myself. Now it's me and my shovel making sweet music on my driveway.

With Gtown you're looking maybe mid to late april. Maybe later if this cold weather continues. (keep coming cold weather...)

Because my belly boat wants to caress my neoprene covered booty. I'm indifferent, the float tube is getting antsy.

I guess I'm getting sorta antsy for some warm weather, I like ice fishing but it's been years for me, I don't have an auger, and I need to re-up on the tackle. Next season I'll get after it with some passion, I really wanted to pull some pigs through a hole this year but it wasn't in the cards.

Patience being a requisite virtue to this pursuit, I suppose I'll pop another beer and ride it out like Speedwagon until I can be creekside once again. My tackle bag is stocked and organized, my reels all have fresh line, my vest is clean and my wading boots are laced up. My waders need some love, maybe I'll do that tomorrow afternoon...

couldn't explain ice fishing for pike any better. Even the next line of popping another beer and waiting is something I've done too many times this season waiting for a 30+ incher to roll thru. haha

I think ice fishing lends itself to getting hammered, oddly enough. Standing there, looking down a hole, pondering your existence and waiting for a fish to bite while you freeze your ass off...yeah, toss me another Busch, you bet.

I'm extraordinarily patient, though. The days of my youth spent on a 5 gallon bucket staring at a hole at Granby taught me that it's only -5F in your mind...just keep jiggin'.
