Default New boat owner, question about launching a boat - history before the zebra p

So before the mandatory inspections, were you allowed to launch 24/7 or were there always attendants at the docks?

No inspectors or attendants...if the lake was open at night to boating than you could launch any time of the day or night...

Thats gay. We should just spread zebra mussel larvae to all lakes and speed up the inevitable so that they at least let folks launch 24/7.

Or the irrigation companies that own the lakes could just shut them down to all boating after that.

Sorry about that...I just got carried away - I know that some state parks and CDOW people worked awfully hard to prevent the irrigation/ditch companies that own the water in the lakes from just closing them to all boating, which is what some of them wanted to do to prevent the little mussels from getting in, so I get a little hot under the hook hanger when I see something like this. I'll keep quiet from now on.

haha... Yep, I know they're busting their arses to prevent the spread, and reading about folks that are caught with water in their livewells from Mead or Powell a handful of times is comforting - but does it justify their efforts?
