Default I-Pilot Help

I-Pilot owners does your remote turn on even if your trolling motor is not plugged into the battery? Or do i have to be on the water to test it?

I got one a month ago, got on the water used it for an hour than the remote died on me. Took it in for exchange. Just installed the new one but the remote flashes on and shuts right off. Haven't had a chance to test it on the water yet.

I'm 99.9999% sure that your motor has to be plugged in. My boat is in the shop, but the remote is here at the house. So I just tried turning it on and had the same result you're reporting.

I think it's a feature to prolong the remote battery life.

You're welcome. That would bite. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on mine. I just passed the 60 day limit for taking it back to Cabela's for a "no questions" refund.

PI sure hope that it works tonight on the lake! If not I will demand a refund on my guided trip for the evening lol. Funny how all these neat new gadgets give us such stress.

Yes, motor has to be powered up for the remote to work. Hope you get yours working. I have a lot of hours on mine this year, and love it.

Did you check the batteries in the remote?

Is the I pilot the accessory for the power drive motor?
I'm thinking of the panel that changes out on the side and then you can operate with a remote I would like to hear more about how they are working.

That's the wireless copilot. Different animal. They work great.

I just start thinking about taking the thousand-dollar plunge and ordering an I-pilot, and then I read yet another "it stopped working" story or see another one "not working" at the boat ramp. When the trolling motor is your livlihood, as it is to me, I need 99.8% up-time.

Yep, the old Power Drive never lets me down!
