Default Warm water fishing in No CO

I am looking for a place in Northern Colorado to catch some perch or crappie over Thanksgiving break. My boy really enjoyed catching some perch last week & I'd like to get him into a mess of them. They don't have to be big just enough for my boy to have some fun. And of course a few for the dinner table too!
Thanks

Rifle Gap and Harvey Gap have tons of perch and Harvey has lots of crappie too, but they are in Western Colorado. Elkhead Reservoir is more in North Central Colorado, still fairly western, and it has lots of crappie.

Lots of perch, and some crappie at least, in Boyd Lake -- the problem is finding a school of them and there's never any guarantee on that. Plus the stocker trout will always be trying to steal your bait. Try around the marina docks, or walk way down south, down to the pump house.

If you know anyone who lives in Water Valley (a private development in Windsor), and who can get you in, there are some nice big perch (13 - 14 in.) in there and will bite on night crawlers under a bobber. There are also some 20 - 30 lb. carp, so watch out or you'll lose a rod.

I've caught perch out of Lon Hagler res. west of Loveland, but most of them were more the size of bait than anything you would consider keeping.
