Default Do you think the solstice effects fishing?

Went on my first trip to Lake John sunday. Sucked huevos. I had a lot of bites but only managed to ice 10. All were under 13"

I was thinking that it was the storm that came thru. Anyone think it could've had something to do with tonights solstice?

Nope. I don't think it makes any difference.

you say that you only caught 10 fish and it sucked?? i ice lots of days looking for big fish and lots of times catch nothing...how many times did you move? what depths did you try? did you try with and without bait? move to the other side of the lake? try some different shoreline structure? if all you caught were small fish sounds like maybe you needed to move away from the "common" spots... numbers of fish and big fish are usually not to be had in the same spots on the same day....unless you are a lucky SOB...

I wouldn't argue that. Found out from Slayer I was fishing in the community hole. It was my first time there, I usually drill about 30 holes a day on average. Just didn't feel like moving after I almost got the truck stuck.

Every once in awhile I have to remind myself, what not to do. It was still fun. My girlfriend saw her first Moose(actually3 Bulls moving through the valley below). So it was a lot better than sitting at home.
