Default McKay Lake - Carp Mudhole or just dead?

Anyone know if McKay Lake has any signs of life? It's the only lake in Westminster that allows belly boats, and I was thinking of hitting some warm water while the runoff is raging.

If McKay is just a dead mudhole, any other thoughts on belly boat ponds (bass, crappie/gills, carp) within an hour of Westminster (besides Walden/Sawhill in Boulder)?

CFKing, thanks for the info. You fishing from shore or in the water? Crappie wouldn't be terrible to get into. Any chance of sighting carp and casting a fly to em?

Mckay used to be an insane fishery with tons of really big bass. I've also had a buddy catch a few little tigers out there when they first put them in.... I'm sure a few pigs have survived the low water, and poachers over the years. Why in the world they ever put trout in that place is beyond me.

Well, sounds like I need to head out and see what happens.

Tigers eh? That could be fun if there are any in there still (they're kinda like wipers in the way they don't reproduce right?)

I dunno... why WOULD anyone stock trout in a bass lake?
