Default Northern Colorado Fishing

Hey everyone,

I'm moving to Ft. Collins this month and was hoping for some advice on where to fish in N. Colo. I'm wanting to target crappie, bass and spend some time on Muskies from my kayak...BTW I catch and release everything and don't use bait. Not that I'm a purist or anything, I just don't wanna mess with it.

I don't know anything about N. Colo., so any and all advice is appreciated.

Thanks!

There is a musky thread that just started so check it out. But Pinewood outside of loveland and Prospect pond # 3 have musky.

For bass riverbend ponds off prospect in the fort are good. Also Boyd in loveland. I have also heard frank easment ponds are good for bass but don't know anything about them (or where they are).

Also Douglas resevoir north of town has wipers!

Frank Easment Ponds are down near longmont and I've heard they are decent during the summer as well for Bass and many other types of Panfish.

No, Frank Easment Ponds are in Windsor. From the Windsor exit on I25 they are about two miles east of I25.

Oops, my bad I thought I remember looking them up one time and they were on the north side of longmont. I must be thinking of some different ponds. Is there trout in FE or just panfish/bass/catfish?

Edit: Yep, I was thinking of Barbour Ponds, hee hee

I would try Lonetree, Lon Hagler, and the Wellington lakes also. For a good backyard trip, try North Sheilds Pond. These waters all hold nice fish.

Pella is at corner of 75th and 17th, northwest longmont. (town of Hygiene)
Fly / lure only, catch-release on smallies and LM. There are crappie, cats and bass. Good float tubing...Pikester01
