Default Alabama rig...banned

I just read that BASS banned the rigs in practice and tourneys. Also banned are double jerkbait rigs, dropper rigs, and any other rig involving more than one lure. Thoughts?

Good thing it doesnt affect me as a non-tourney guy. Im itching really bad to toss out'em this year. I even saw a alabama crappie rig weighted at 1/10oz

If it isnt against state and local regulations, I dont think it should be banned.
That being said, those guys are good enough fisherman that it really shouldnt bother them.
The way many of them throw it, is illegal in CO. So, it doesnt really have any effect on me personally.

This thread will hold more interest for those who follow pro bass fishing. I think its a good rule change...one lure per rod...one rod at a time. This keeps the field level and more simplified.

Keep in mind that no matter what BASS does...the alabama rig is illegal in Colorado and many other states.

With 5 hooks, knock it down to 3 hooks, you're golden.

the Alabama riggs have been working well in walleye tourneys also. I wonder if you could rigg one up to work thru the ice.

it is legal in colo if you only use 3 lures on it. all 3 lures can have mulitple trebels on them. all hooks on a manufactured lure are considered as 1 common hook.

when i tried them years ago, i ran 3 lures witth hooks and 6 twister tails as attractors. they were ok for trolling, but more pain than they are worth. if you want to cast them i would get a pool que and put some guides on it for a rod
