Default Oval Split Rings ?

What do you think about oval rings? We are currently adding them to some of our lures and considering them on all of the lures. I do not believe this will cause a price increase either.

You already know the answer, thats why you're switching.

Of course they're better, for all the obvious reasons.

Better for all lures though ? We are using them on the travado, but have discussed using them on the little hd's, I am not sure that they will help on that small of a lure

LC uses them on all their line ties-not a bad company to imitate.

With the split rings that hold the hooks, doesn't matter.

You could just put them in the package, I'd say 80% of lures I like to tie direct, especially anything I'm fishing in the upper 1/4 part of the water column. But maybe I'm just weird like that.

Unless you tie the lure on with a loop knot you'll get more action from the lure with a split ring.

I know this, I just like direct contact with the lure, especially fishing topwater and wakers. My least favorite thing is getting the line and hook caught in the split rings. Jerks and topwaters and anything that I work crazy like, I tie direct. Cranks I typically have a split on there, especially with straight retrieve baits. I dont really trust factory components most of the time.

I pretty much go with how the lure is rigged from factory...hoping they did the research on how the lure best performs...If it comes with a split ring...I tie to the split ring..if it's a rapala..a loop or rapala knot...

On metal...a kastmaster has a split ring..I use it...a kroc doesn't ...I use a clinch knot..etc...although some may...I never use a split ring on a jig...

Better cause it will give the lure more action. Worse since the treble will receive all that action and can cause more line issues. So long as the treble can't get wrapped up around the lure or line, I'd think it's better for sure.
