Default Where should I fish?

I am on spring break now, and I want to go fishing. I can drive anywhere within about 10 or 12 hours, and I want to caqtch fish. I was considering Lake Meredith in Texas, but it's still up in the air. It's just my friend and I, and we are making this a mini road trip, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Either somewhere in Texas or Lake Powell. You could take your small boat to Powell and use it in the little coves around the Bullfrog Marina and whack stripers, crappie, and largemouth this time of year. Could probably catch a few smallmouth and maybe a walleye or two. If they get the warm weather we are set for, the largemouth fishing this coming week could really rock and your little boat could get you into the little arms around the marina where the big bass boats can't get to.

Man I love that place!! Check out the "Fishing Reports" and "Anglers Corner" on http://www.wayneswords.com/ .

Later-

Vegas is under 10 hours away..... I hear they have good fishing. :P

What do you want to catch? Texas would be a good choice if you wanted to catch large bass right now as they are in spawn mode and the smaller bass are staging for the spawn. Yellowstone is a great place to fish, Montana has some great fishing, Utah, Idaho, the list goes on and on. 10-12 hours is a long ways. What species do you want to target specifically.

I vote for Lake Powell! You've never seen anything until you've fished the striper boils. It's AWESOME!! Go to www.wayneswords.com for current conditions at Powell.
