Default Fly Fishing

Hello,

I'm in college right now in Illinois for lacrosse but I have lived in Colorado my whole life. I'm on the Youth US Fly Fishing team and have a competition in the beginning of may and am trying to gain some info before hand as ill only have one day of practice. The comp is taking place on the Roaring Fork, the Frying Pan below the toilet bowl are through the lower stretches, and Reudi reservoir. I was wondering what type of flies I should be using during this time period, I.e. any specific patterns that you really like, or any info you could provide.

Thanks for the help in advance, If you have any fly fishing related question give me a shout and ill try to provide some answers.

Thanks,
Cody

I fear for the future of US fly fishing teams. You should be lashed for this blasphemy. You are a disgrace to your fellow natives.

You're welcome, in advance.

If said halloween candy is round and can somehow be attached to line, then I would use it.

I suggest at least 1x tippet in moss green.... Reason being there's a limited amount of materials for the best fly in this section of the river. It's called an Fire Red Irish Pube fly. Good luck.
