It's supposedly open to the public for fishing, but really it's pretty inaccessible. You have to be motiviated.

You can ride your bike in from Waterton canyon. The trail can be hard to find but it comes off the Colorado trail on the right about 50 yards above that creek at the bottom of the hill. Watch out for poison ivy. You can also get on the other side from the area around Deckers, take a look at a map of the area.

Google earth it. The shoreline around it is nearly vertical 95% of the lake. Other than walking up the canyon from Waterton to the dam or down stream from South Platte there is nt much roadway. Any hike in would be brutal and possibly dangerous.

might as well leave the pontoon because you can't do anything involving water contact.

Access sucks...If you come in from the Decker's side (easy hike) you have a very limited area to fish with normal water levels and none when the water is down..You'll see the cliffs and signs...Haven't tried to fish it from the Waterton side, but we've ridden the Waterton to Colorado Trail over to the South Platte Decker's side and back a couple of times and you never get closer than a half mile to the lake...and didn't see any trails down to the lake...even if you bushwhack, no telling if you'll end up in a cliffed out area.

They will allow access to a lake that's a deathtrap, but they won't let you fish marston. Ironic huh?

I've seen the water department guys out there in a boat catching one huge brown after another. Membership has it's privileges.
