Default More Wisdom from the Group Part 2 lol

We have 2 Hummingbirds now. A 998 in the middle console and a 1198 in the front. At the moment we only run one transducer in the back of the boat. We have a Ethernet cable that should just be a plug and play and sync/connect the two units together. Its been 2 weeks and the front unit is not working.

Do we have to get a transducer for the front or will they both work on the same back transducer, if so what are we doing wrong.

Thanks in advance, Tony.

Sorry to keep referencing another site for information but they "have been there, done that" and I would only be responding with my interpretation of what they have stated. There is a very knowledgeable group over there and one guy that has a great website with HB information. The same can be said for Walleye Central.

Walleye Central has a guy that frequents the site and he also has a HB page and gives seminars on image interpretation. His name is Jason Halfen

Hope that helps,
Brett

To start I am not a HB user but you should be able to network two units together. I run three Lowrances off of one transducer at the transom. I do have to run everything through an LSS to get the data distributed to all three units...not sure if HB needs that type of configuration though. Might try calling HB customer service.

From what you posted it seems that both units should be sharing sonar data with each other. I would recommend a call to Humminbird's customer service.

BNC04 pointed out a lot of great information that has been VERY useful to me in the past!

Give them to me, I'll tinker with em and figure it out for you.

Maybe I'll give em back.

Funny that you say call customer service. We called Friday. Left message at someone's voicemail......................still waiting on a response.

That surprises me! I have NEVER had to leave a message with HB's customer service. Every time I have called I get a live person that provides solid solutions for my issues. If HookNLine purchased his gear new then he has even greater access to HB customer service.
