Default Colorado salmonfly report?

Just wondering if anyone has been to the colorado and seen salmonflies getting hit lately? I have seen a few vague reports of it, but it seems a little early.

I can assure you that they probably are hatching on the gunnison river but probably not the CO river yet...CO River would be a waste of your time right now. I'd try to fish the gunnison river gorge if I was you. You can catch over ONE HUNDRED trout in a day fairly easily, if you have the right techniques.

Course, take what I'm saying with a grain of salt because I have not been on either river this year, or in several years for that matter, however 20 years of experience on those waters lead me to what I told you.

They have been hatching for a while now. I fished Gore Canyon 2 weeks ago and there were adults everywhere. Tons of fishermen out too. The fish were gorged and I could only manage 3 in a full day. Lots of bugs getting blown onto the water, and not a single rise. I think I was probably 3-5 days late for the crazy fishing. It's probably winding down by now--good luck if you go...

A guy I talked to at Spinney today told me there are salmon flies on the Arkansas River this year for the first time--He's employed at a fly shop.

I was on the Ark this past Sunday and did see stonefly adults crawling around streamside rocks. I didn't see any Salmonflies, but that doesn't mean they aren't around.
