I have heard just about nothing in regards to Antero for a while. Remember a year ago to the past four or five years? You had to look to find something on anything other than Antero info! I'm sure someone will chime is with something.

Check sswans reports on the reports section of the forum. Or just pm sswan. He is pretty much the ambassador of the south park region.

Some people have been catching fish, but mostly smaller ones with an ever increasing proportion of suckers. Sad to see, but the place is becoming a shadow of what it was after they reopened it. And it's potential as one of the premier trophy trout lakes in the country will never be realized. It's being loved to death (or date raped, depending on your perspective). Best thing that could happen in my opinion would be for them to drain it again and repair the dam.

Honestly, steve...

I think that lake could benefit from an injection of about 5 thousand tiger muskie babies.

Typical cycle for Antero. It has been like this as long as I can remember. It will shut down again for a repair. Then, it will be fantasy fishing for a little while until it's raped again. Just the way it goes there.

well, back in the days, the internet had a minimal effect on lakes.

it didn't help that for 3 years, every other thread on fishexplorer was an antero thread. and the post posted articles about it repeatedly. I wanna laugh at people on that forum now who said "gotta get it while the action's hot!" in regards to fishing pressure there. it's literally the martyr for all lakes in colorado.
