Default Hotspotting 101

Alright, here goes the question at hand. What is everyone's definition of Hotspotting?

Apparently, I am a hotspotter. I go to lakes that I have been told are doing well. I also do not go to lakes where I have received reports that fishing has not been so good. What is wrong with this concept?

Oh, I see. Going somewhere where someone else has done well is Hotspotting. Got it. 99% of the folks on this site are hotspotters. The other 1% are incarcerated.

Hotspotting don't work anyway. Always a day late a dollar short. Hot spotting was only good at chatfield inlet than outlet in 2007 lol.

Should I get the popcorn ready?

My thing with hotspotting is this. Do what you want, but know that when you put it on the internet, everyone is gonna see it. We all get on this forum to brag and share information. You don't have to post location just like you don't have to post what you used, although its cool when you do. Just be smart about it. The thing that makes this site better than others is the personal message option.

And nothin wrong with riding the nuts of past reports. Everyone has done it including myself.

You call it hotspotting we call it common sense? Is fishing Granby after ice off considered hotspotting?

If you heard they were biting already from someone else, yes.

Ummm...maybe the people at the lakes where fishing is not so good...just can't fish...that'll screw you up..

I don't like crowds...The secret to catching fish consistently is...

Get a circuit...Know the lakes you're going to fish...know the species you're going to catch...fish those lakes when you know the fishing is good for those species at that lake...as one lake slows down...the next one you have in line should be picking up...move on to the next lake...repeat...

High lakes...truthfully, I'd prefer not to know what's there...It's much more fun finding out yourself..

I really don't care where others are catching fish... and if a lake's drawing a crowd because of hotspotting...That leaves more open water somewhere else...I'd rather be there...
