Default What color lure?

Lure colors:
Start with red lures in shallow water
followed by orange, yellow, green and
blue or black as you get into the
deepest water. White is normally a good
neutral color that can be seen at most
any depth.
Since you can't always tell the level of
light present in the water one basic
rule to follow is in bright light and
clear water use the red, orange, green,
blue and white colors. In dark waters
and when it is night or cloudy the pink,
chartreuse, yellow, light blue and even
black are the best choices.

When in doubt, bright day bright lure. Cloudy day dark lure. White is always good.

Albino Panther Martin with red circle dot always kills.

Cloudy/overcast day:

Dark "brown trout" patterned Meps or Panther
Black bodied Panthers with gold spoon.

Bright day:
Spinners and spoons in reflective silver
UV holographic Panthers (wicked)
Anything bright yellow with red dots

This is a 100% all the time deal in Clear Creek... never miss with this formula

From my limited outings so far:

Super duper with gold and red
Joe's Flies with black and red (gold spinner)
Was getting some on a jig, gold with red eyes/ white body
Even used a bead head nymph behind a bubble with great effect, though this too had red.

It seems like red is a big part of what the trout are looking for.

As much as I love the Dynamic lures HD trout designs I haven't had nearly as many hits and nothing landed on them as I have with spinners and the super duper.

Leeches can't be ordered in colors, so I am confused. Although I mix jig head colors up (primarily just to confuse my son). There is a ton of proof on color when it comes to jerkbaits. I get too hung up on the flavor of the month (which for me means I am using what I always use waiting on it to shine one more time) to really sample all the options in size, maker, color, and depth. Which really means I don't get out enough to try new things. My shit produces though and leeches rule the world. If you can make them somehow chartreuse I will invest my life savings.
