Default Weekend fishing

Hi all.

I'm wanting to go fishing this weekend but with it being free weekend, I am trying to avoid the masses as much as possible but stay in the Larimer County area. Looking for a good time/spot to fish within an hour or so of Fort Collins/Loveland area. Was thinking about Pinewood after 1600 hours (4pm). Any ideas?

Thanks!

I've never fished pinewood, is that the lake above Carter? Can you put a boat on it?

Yes, Pinewood is above Carter and Flatirons. I believe you can put a boat in but it's wakeless only. I haven't fished there before. I'm kind of hoping it's fairly quiet.

Every first full weekend in June, folks are allowed to fish the Colorado waters without a fishing license.
