Default pueblo water level

ive been hearing conflicting reports on the water level at pueblo, some say its going to fill up this winter and others say its staying at the current level through the winter. all i can say is if they do not fill it , by next summer its going to be nothing more that a mud hole... any news on the truth?

The winter storage release starts in a few days, where it will stay at ~150 cfs until spring. Whether or not it fills up depends on the snowpack in the Arkansas basin. That's the only truth there is at this point, all else is speculation...

Typically, the res will gain in water level over the winter months- more is coming in than going out. Then, March 15 they open the gates and the water level starts going down unless we have above avg snowpack.

I've been fishing the res since it opened in the late 70's and its a lake you have to relearn most every year because the water level can fluctuate so much.

Pueblo is low but its a far cry from being a mud puddle.

All I know for sure is that it is a long long way to walk up the ramp to get to your truck only to find you left your truck keys in the boat.
