Default 2006 Nitro NX750 DC

2006 Nitro NX750 dual console bass boat. Great shape, 135hp Mercury OptiMax, new 50lb MinnKota foot control motor, fish finder, under water green LED lights to light up under and around boat, live well, 2 rod storage boxes, tackle storage, 2 coolers, 2 pedestal chairs for fishing, plus more storage. Always garage kept. 135hp =very fast boat, almost too fast...almost. Have ski stuff for it too. Starts right up runs extremely well. Steering is tight needs greasing. $9,500 OBO. Will test drive for serious buyers. Located in Loveland. Best way to get a hold of me initially will be to PM me here.

Good luck with sale. BTW, there is no such thing as "greasing" steering cables. Just replace them, they have a life and then they are no more.

Correct, don't grease up cables. I haven't had time to get in there and isolate the issue exactly. I have a hunch its engine pivot or the hydraulic steering assist are more likely the culprit other than bad cables. A 135hp motor doesn't rely on cables alone. The hydraulic cylinder that assists steering has a nipple for greasing/lubing or replacing the hydraulic fluid. If any boat experts out feel free to weigh in.

The steering on my boat was getting stiff-especially at slow speeds. Once on plane the problem goes away. I have greased the cables and it does help free up the steering some but its a temporary fix. New cables on most boats cost $300-400 installed. I'm putting off the repair until the steering gets worse-shouldn't be long.

Use a non seize grease-normal grease tends to congeal and attract dirt and will actually make the steering worse over time.
