Default White Fish Smoking

Hello. I have an older friend that isnt doing to well and during a conversation said he loved smoked white fish. I have smoked a lot of silvers and kings but not a white fish. I know they are kind of a trash fish but will make the following proposition to anyone who would participate.

If you provide the fish, I will smoke them and give you back 1/2. I dont know if this is a good deal or not but thought I would put it out there. Please email me at [email protected] if interested. Thanks, Glen

Well your first mistake is calling them a trash fish. They are great table fare especially smoked, they are high mountain, cold water, hard fighting fish.

Im not sure what your selling though. All I know is they are not trash fish. Carp and suckers are trash fish and even then I wouldnt classify them as such because I have much respect for both or at least carp.

Glen, use the CFF search function and you'll find out where/how to catch whitefish. There have been nice pics posted here within the past year.

The Colorado (Glenwood Canyon - South Canyon), Roaring Fork, and the White River all have good populations. Deep nymph small beadheads, the shinier the better through the slower eddies and pools, you should be able to get all your smoker can handle.
