Default Sage Z-Axis 9' 5wt PRICE REDUCED

Well folks, this rod ended up being just too fast for my liking. The rod is almost exactly one year old. It has brand new cork and reel seat. The old reel seat had the bottom piece come loose, and water got in and swelled up the reel seat. I warranteed it and told Sage that I was not happy with the cork cause it had a rough spot where my index finger rests and it bothered me. They replaced the cork and reel seat. The rod comes with the original tube and sock.

I would rate this rod a 9 of 10. It has some minor scratches and you can tell where the ferrules have been fitted together even though I always use a little grease on the ferrules. I have taken photos of the worst of the imperfections. The tube is not in great condition. It has scratches on it from going in and out of a dirty car (anyone who has fished with me knows my car is rough!).

I already sent in the warranty card when I purchased the rod, but if you ever have a problem with the rod, I would be happy to send it in for you (you pay S&H and $50.00 Sage warranty service fee) and get the rod back to you. I live in Pueblo and own two local businesses, so I am not going anywhere any time soon, so I will always be available to help if you need the rod warrantied.

The ONLY reason I am getting rid of the rod is because I want a slightly slower action. The rod has no issues. My price is $400.00 and it is firm. I will help arrange delivery or send it to you at no cost to you. This is a great rod at a great price and pretty much has a full warranty unless you loose touch with me!!! Here are the pics.

This photo shows slight wear at the ferrules

Tiny scratch on one wrap

butt cap in good condition, very few minor scuffs

Tiny nicks in finish on butt section

Tube is scratched... Finish is not in good condition

Winston BIIx... just like my 3 wt which is my favorite rod... It is sold as a fast action rod, but it really isn't...just fast for Winston. I also seriously liked the Sage ZXL, but the winston just fits.

If you fished more lakes from a tube I think you would like this rod more. Give up river fishing then you can keep the rod.

I just love moving water, and in the tube, I fish a 6wt Sage RPL that casts like a beast. My everyday rod has to be a little easier to cast... I can really toss the Z, especially in the wind, but that is just not what I need. You might love it for your tube Tony!!! Let me know!
