Default 2004 MinnKota 74# Thrust Power Drive V1

I have a MinnKota 24v Power Drive trolling motor I'm selling as a rebuild or as a parts motor.

I've had this motor for 3 seasons, I bought it used and put some time and effort into it. However, I can't seem to keep it running all the time. When it's working, everything works great. Transducer works (I have it set up for Lowrance right now, but it's a quick disconnect to change to Humminbird if needed). The Autopilot works as well.

It has a new coil cable, a new transducer cable (the 'ducer is a universal) New brush kit, new footpedal, and an updated V2 control board.

I would imagine all the parts alone are worth more than what I'm asking to sell this motor.

$125 takes it. Like I said, this is a motor than can be used for parts, or if you're handy with motor diagnostics, maybe you can finally get it to run properly?

If you need pics, I can provide them. The serial number for this motor is MKAE3136142

You can use that to look up parts at http://northlandmarine.com/

Reply here or PM me for questions.

Thanks for looking.

Ken

cool.

Thanks man. I was hoping it was 12v. Fat chance on a 74#. How long is the shaft 54" or so?

It's a 60". Don't quote me on this, but I believe those Power Drives can be run 12, 24 or 36. I'm not sure about that though.

I think you can run it 12v, but it will be underpowered for the thrust rating.

so what really does it do. Run ok here and there. Or not run at all for the day and make you wanna throw it off the boat?

It might be run 12v but would be 55lb probly.

Until recently, it would run fine. Then it became intermittent. Now, the prop will spin for a minute or two, then nothing. You can hear the switch clicking, but no power.

It's quite perplexing. My wife is now sick of it sitting on my fold up table in my basement. So one way or the other, it's leaving my house.......soon.

Yes. There's no remote for the auto pilot. But if I remember correctly, you can connect a copilot to it, but it's pointless, IMO.

I used that motor like an ipilot. I'd use the autopilot to stay pointed in the direction I wanted, then I would adjust my speed to compensate for wind. Got pretty damn good at holding on points at Aurora Res.

Co Pilot just adds a remote, but I'm not a remote guy, even when using my friend's ipilot...hate it... I like being hands free, so I can just keep fishing.
