Default WTB: used ice rod/reel combos

Hey fellas/ladies... We are looking for a couple ice rod/reel combos on the cheap. If they function, they're fine. Don't need anything fancy, and I'll be re-spooling them before we fish.

Walmart has these crappy things called "Dock Masters" or something like that, but they're obviously not designed for ice... tiny top eye and they seem overpriced to me.

Anyway, if you have a couple and are looking to offload, let me know on here or PM. Trying to keep it under $20 a combo. Brand doesn't matter...

Thanks guys.

Owen

The nice thing about ice fishing is you can keep it simple, I use the same reels year round and just change em out from the long to short rods. I used to turn my broken rods into ice rods and have even just hand lined without a rod. A bucket, spud bar, line, hook and bait is all you really need, the rest are luxuries.

Yea, you're absolutely right on there... but I would like to make it as fun as possible for the boy. He did pretty well when we had the shelter up and the heater on this past weekend... That keeps him warm. The flasher was cool because he got to see when a fish was getting close... creating that anticipation. =) He loved that.

As I said in another thread... the Granby trip ruined us, man. Unparalleled experience--- for sure. Still smiling about that trip.

***Mark, sent you a PM.

And one beautiful thing... My wife and I are BOTH working now... for the first time in two years. =) I actually have a little spending money now! =) It's a very cool feeling... being able to go buy a sled and some tackle. We're not buying anything big (saving most of it) but I've allowed myself a couple hundred bucks to spend on hobby stuff. It feels scary, spending money on something other than gas and food--- but my wife said "You've earned the right to spend a hundred bucks on yourself!! Don't feel bad". =)

Anyway, things are looking up... It's a happy time right now.

You make sure Mark gives you the good rods like the PopEye, Snoopy or the He-Man! I would leave the Cinderella combo alone...and the Spiderman is taken but I just haven't picked it up yet!
