Default Lowrance LGC-4000 GPS Antenna

Lowrance LGC-4000 High Sensitivity GPS Receiver Antenna. This replaces the LGC-3000, this product has been discontinued now, and replaced with Lowrance Point 1 GPS Antenna. Lowrance LGC-4000 GPS Antenna is required for most HDS series hard top installations. When connected with HDS models, delivers a true satellite update rate of 5 times per second for the most accurate speed-over-ground readings. The LGC 4000 also features a new compact size that’s easier to flush-mount on the Deck. LGC4000 is rugged for all marine environments and fully waterproof, a spat cone is included for Pole mounting.
•16 Channel 5hz Antenna
•Waterproof IPX7
•Replaces LGC-3000
•Requires GPC961 Starter Kit to connect to HDS Series (see options)
•Supplied with 18" Cable connceted, 15' NMEA2000 Cable & T Piece, Spat Cone, Gasket Seal, Mounting Screws

It is new in box, only hooked up once and took right off and never used. I paid almost $200.00 and am asking $100.00 for it...just in time for Christmas!

Just a quick question if you dont mind? I know the HDS has an internal GPS.. Is this just used for better accuracy?

Because of my Dr. Depth mapping, I want my GPS antenna as close as possible to directly above the transducer.

I don't have an HDS unit, but if I did I'd still want that configuration.

Yep. Although Humminbird calls it something else.

I have been using Insight Genesis to map Plo. A few things I like about Insight are:
1. Allows me to build maps with bottom composition (hardness/softness) or with vegetation.
2. Can build maps with 1 foot contour changes.
3. I can re-run my entire recorded track (sonar and map location) and ID why fish might have been holding where they were...composition change, vegetation, contour change, etc. Then can place waypoint coordinates on the map and have those exported along with the new map.

After getting back home and re-running my trip I saw that I had missed these two fish holding in the cut.

Cool. But to make the maps don't you have to send your data to Lowrance and buy a subscription, etc.?

You do have to log into their server and upload the data. Their server will process the maps and then you can download them to an SD card. There are varying levels of subscription...including free. What you see in my pic and what I use is the Premium Subscription.
