For safe ice (safer than what Slayer fishes on) - January at least. According to my records, Williams Fork doesn't even completely freeze until the last week of December on an average year.
A few years ago I was fishing Boyd lake with about 3 inches of ice on it - I think that was the week before Christmas. I doubt we'll be able to do that this year.

yeah, there's no way that's going to happen. Much too warm in the metro area...did Chatty even ice up safely last year? Aurora was sketchy...ice there was safe for about two weeks it seemed. BC was wack! UGH!!!!!! Guess it'll be Antero, Antero, Antero!!!
Depends on the first big freeze. Last year we had a few days of well below 0 temps before the 17th. We had 7" of ice on Wellington #4 last year on the 18th.
It was warm then a nice cold spell end of the month to setup for a nice December, looking at the 15 day forcast, it could happen!
