Default Not Ice Fishing

I have never been a fan of the hard water. This last weekend, I had the opportunity to get out of Colorado to some warm, soft water fishing.

Headed South to the state of Texas. Air temps in the low 70's, water was 65, winds were varied up to 20 MPH, current was a little rough.

Locals said that the fishing was slow, but I had a good time. We caught sheephead, flounder, red, grouper, among others.

I see the draw to live in places like this.

Personal space is judged a bit different than in Colorado.
Small red caught by a friend of dad's

My biggest sheephead of the trip.

One of the freeloaders on the way in.

One of the boats I would consider upgrading to if I moved South.

Biggest fish of the trip. Dad's friend with a 32" drum

Feeding the freeloaders on the way in.

Looks fun... I think more people should move from CO to TX for the fishing, etc.

Port Aransas. Not a resort by any stretch of the imagination but costs seem pretty reasonable.

If I ever get to retire, this would be a draw for those winter months.

You'd probably fit right in from a political standpoint. I'd probably fit in better in FL.

People in Texas have their politics Right. (;

And it seems you might fit in better in CA. But since this is the "reports" section, I won't hold that against you.

I love port aransas. havent been there since I was 18 but I definitely remember buying seafood with the parents at the docks, and frying it up right there. nice sheepshead!
