Default Ontario Eye Extravaganza !!

Me and 2 of My good Buddies from Co. and 3 Of my Good Buddies from Minneapolis headed up to famous LAC SEUL in NW Ontario. Stayed at LAC SEUL OUTPOSTS, in the Chamberlain Narrows area. Had never been to that section of LAC SEUL, before, BUT, Fishing was FANTASTIC to say the least. We found Eyes, and BIG, FAT, FEISTY Eyes on most points and neckdown, current areas at 18 to 24' feet of depth...easy fishing with 1/4 Oz. jigs and minnows. They even hit GULP ALIVE, when the bite was on. Even the 14" fish fought like hell...these fish were just FAT PIGS.... 6 Guys, 3 boats, fishing maybe 6 - 6.5 hours a day and easily landed 120 - 150 fish per day. We nailed at least 40 Eyes OVER 24", and at least 250 Eyes over the 21" "slot" size... All except the last day, Friday, when a BIG cold front and wind made for a real tough bite.... We had 3 "fish dinners" during the stay.
Biggest 2 fish were caught by my Buddy, Rich (26.5" and 26") and these Eyes were tough, old, ugly Eyes... My biggest was 25"... Interesting, though was the fact We only got 6 PIKE all week... biggest was 28"... don't know what was going on with ESOX, But We couldn't figure it out...
Great Camp, Great owners, and great Friends made for a wonderful trip! Booked again, same time next year !!
The last nite, Friday, The Camp owner, Ken Robbins, came by with a Liter of 9 year old, Canadian Club Rye whiskey as a gift to Our group... needless to say, We drank a bit too much that nite... LOL! He just wanted to tell Us that We were one of the best Groups He had ALL YEAR and that He had only had 1 other group from Colorado at the camp, ever....

With a conservation license... ($28 for 8 days You can take 2 Eyes, 2 Pike.
Reg license ( $42 for 8 days) gives you Double that.
BUT, We ate enough fish up there that we started to shit fins...
Besides, I get enough keepers around here to be happy...
AND.. I didn't want to bother keeping fish iced down for a 2 day return trip..
