Default walleye out of colorado but not far

where is your favorite non colorado place for walleye that's not a horrible drive from Denver?
related, is there any point in shore fishing McConaughy

Definitely. Specifically in the spring, but bring some boxing gloves.

Otherwise there are some pretty good lakes in NE and KS.

Cuz I don't feel guilty killing fish that I would otherwise not kill in CO:

That's a very full size cooler BTW.

And camp fires are fun when the fishing is done:

always up for a trip and thought people might be a little more forthcoming on locations when it's not local. thus far I've caught one keeper walleye in my short fishing career and it was delicious. I keep pulling too-small to keep ones at chatfield and nothing elsewhere.

I have a small cabin in WY and family in KS (my least favorite place to visit) so sometimes getting from there is easy too.
