Default seattle questions

I'll be in Seattle for work in early July. I'm going to have several half days off and one full day off. Obviously there is a ton of water up there. I don't do boats, is there anything I should make a point of fishing fairly close in (will be in edmonds mostly) that can be fished from the shore while I'm there? Or is it that the fishing worth doing in that area is all from boat?

If it was me I'd go to Edmonds pier and fish for Squid. 4 in the mornings a good time, it helps to have a light to attract them.
A buddy of mine lives out that way and loads up on them.
Fresh Calamari is hard to beat.
