As long as I have service I will... I already contacted Verizon and setup my TravelPass so I can use my phone in Mexico for only $5 per day......

If the connection sucks though I may not be able to post.... If so I'll post up when I get back... if the connection is good enough I may even go live for the first time ever... but I am doubtful that the connection will be very good :/

I hope to get some good pics. and videos!! Never done video of myself fishing but bought a tri-pod for this trip I want to get a vid of an EPIC topwater fish from cast to catch!

T-25 days until we fly out(1/2/18 ) ...

We are guided from 1/3/18-1/9/18(7 full days!!) and fly back on 1/10/18... But we are allowed to fish from shore/the docks the night we arrive if we want

So exactly 26 days from right now I might be catching the biggest Bass of my life!!

¨ Bullet weight pegs or toothpicks if you peg weights

The following list of lures and tackle are recommendations based on extensive experience fishing in Mexico. Included are topwater baits, spinnerbaits, crankbaits, swimbaits, and soft plastics, basically lures that will cover the entire water column. This list is by no means complete, and we encourage you to experiment with other lures. You may want to replace factory hooks with bigger/better treble hooks (#2 Gamakatsu / Owner).

¨ Buzzbaits, white and chartreuse skirted

¨ Topwater prop baits or jerkbaits

¨ 4,5,6 inch Storm Wildeye Swimbaits in pearl colors.

¨ Zoom Super Flukes, or similar soft jerkbaits, in pearl

¨ 6,& 7 inch Senkos or YUM Dingers in watermelon watermelon/red, pearl/silver flake, or other favorites.

Fishing Accessories Suggestions

¨ Small duffel bag for boat, Camera!

¨ Needle Nose Pliers/Split ring pliers

¨ Leatherman tool / Line clippers

¨ Digital Scale / Tape measure

¨ Hook sharpener/file

¨ Hand towel

¨ Chartreuse Worm Dye or marker pen
I go to El Salto quite a bit. I will be there 1/6-15 so I will have some overlap with you although I will be in another lodge.

In January they should be on the banks. Try to mix in things that hold up well. These fish are very strong and will put a lot of stress on your tackle. I see you have Senkos which pretty much always work. If you rig them by putting a hook in them, say Texas rig, you will burn them up fast. You are lucky to get 2 fish per bait. I suggest you throw in some z-man baits in case you blow threw your Senkos. The 10” Black/blue power worm is a strong bait down there. Chatterbaits are a good choice as they hold up well. I was there at the end of Oct and the whopper plopper did well...poppers always do. The Keitechs work, I tend to do better with an under spin blade on them there. That said, they don’t hold up well.

Super stoked for you, Ricky! Have a blast man. Keep posting! I would dig that trip.. 3k doesn't sound redic either. I'm with Bobys, take swimbaits (although they might not have a rod for you and taking one might be a PITA)

Only 2 weeks until we fly out!! I am so stoked!! Its starting to actually feel real!

ColoGregS - Thanks man I know it will be!!

DMacc - I am absolutely bringing tons of plastics of different brands as I know what you are saying about Senkos!! LOL I also have a couple ploppers and a rat I wanna try on topwater!! (In addition to frogs, buzzbaits, etc)

Oyey - I have quite a few swimbaits for sure!! I am no swimbait fanatic so I had to order some in addition to the ones I already have. We are bringing our own rods so it's no big deal for me to throw in my swimbait rod!!
