Fishing on the intercoastal in FL
We only took one picture of the good sized Red that family friend Ron hooked into but we had a blast and it is actually what got me back into wanting to fish again after several years.
We took the boat out to a couple spots on the intercoastal, pulled in a few ladyfish and various other fish using jigs and live shrimp.
The real highlight happened after we moved spots and anchored maybe 10 yards off of a dock, in about 20 feet of water. It started drizzling and we were pulling in Jacks left and right, every cast we were yanking them in. They were around 14-16 inches or so and they put up a fun little fight! As it all calmed down Ron hooked into the Redfish in the picture and it went straight for the rocks at base of the pillars for the dock, after some real delicate work he fought it out of there and got it in. Real pretty fish! I think it came in at 31 inches, I think I'm remembering it right. I know we had to let it go. I'm on the right and my little brother is on the left.
A perfect day and the catalyst to get me back into the fishing world! Hope you all enjoyed!
