Default Glendo Shore Fishing

Running up to Glendo this weekend. Went there a couple summers ago and stayed at Red Hills. Probably will do something similar.

I'd like to chase some walleye from shore. I'm assuming similar night tactics to the metro area will work. Look for familiar structure, and throw similar lures? During the day I'll probably just be enjoying the shade and water to stay cool. May soak a nightcrawler or leech during the day to see if a cat or perch swims by.

A leech off a lighted slip bober at night could work pretty good.

I have not been there in a few years, and I used a boat when I fished it, but I have seen guys slay em from time to time during the day at Red Hills, from shore using a chartruse twister tail.

Have fun Glendo is a great place.

A few years ago I watched a couple Guys on the NorthWest side of Bennet Hill slaying them of twister Tails. The wind was blowing about 40 MPH into the shoreline and they were wading out knee deep and casting them twister tails into the wind....
They walked out with a limit of 18-20" ers and a couple that were in the 5lb range.

Ended up camping at Shelter Point. Lots of wind, hail/rain and lighting Saturday night, kept me from shore fishing much. Didn't see anyone catching anything on Sunday. Saw a lot of carp eating cottonwood seeds though.

Well that stinks!

That place is crazy when it storms.

Thanks for the update however.

Happened to be up there last weekend also. Fishing was slower than I would expect, however Sunday things were picking up.
