Default Alaska

I spent close to a month in Homer and took my wife with me, she likes to stay on land so I just did a few day trips but spent most of the time working on my building. I did manage a few decent Halibut and a few king salmon, the Halibut were caught on white tube jigs tipped with a small piece of herring in 18' of water and the salmon were caught trolling with flashers and brads mini baits (a cut plug herring imitation)

My wife Van is a hell of a cook and makes a mean blueberry pie

I brought her back home and spent 10 days helping on the jobsites and enjoying some Colorado sun but managed a dang summer cold, heading back with the son in law for a long range trip exploring and fishing Shuyak and Afognak Islands then chasing King Salmon and Halibut fishing with some canning and smoking the rest of the season

Looks awesome! I was born in Anchorage & lived there until I was 5. Lived there again for about 4 months when I was 15. Can't wait to take my wife someday. Wishing it was this year for our 15th anniversary (we're both 35).

Right up tight to shore anchored in the kelp when the tides ripping, Halibut in shallow water hit hard and put up a great fight, good old white tube jig catches everything.
