Default a shot in the dark here... but info on wyoming...

... because of a family emergency, my wife and kid are going to OK for 2 weeks. and because it's going to be much cheaper on the wallet, I'm possibly going to work up north in wide open wyoming till labor day. ill have a free, mileage-paid weekend where Instead of going home for 2 days... i'm interested in exploring the state. any good places I can go and camp at? last time I was there I drove through west riverton and thought the wyoming rockies around dubois were amazing, and interested me into maybe checking it out. also thought about going to keyhole...

You could always go down to the rodeo grounds, with that big melon you got you could volunteer as a roping steer and make some extra cash. I would be careful of what they would do with you after they get the rope around you though since you are a greenie!

You could check out Boysen Lake and the Wind River Canyon...Beautiful place and you could try fishing below the dam. A friend of mine owns the diner in Thermopolis..If you go..stop in and say hi to Rick..If you do go to Keyhole..take the short flat hike around the base of Devil's Tower..pretty amazing.

Wind River Range, Jim Bridger Wilderness, The Snowey Range.

Wyoming is a big state so it depends on where your based. Even with mileage paid the drives could get pretty long. Keyhole and Riverton are opposite ends of the state.

Have fun.

I love the Jackson Hole area. That would be top of my list.

The offshoots of the Gros Ventre are promising... The north fork of Bull Lake Creek is superbly beautiful... though it's been 10 years since I've been up there...
