Early ice, but maybe not so good if you all crowd around so close together. All that water coming up through the hole is a hint that the ice is sagging. Not so bad if temps are below freezing day and night (ice keeps growing) but that's not the case right now.

Very good point albow. High barometric pressure will also push down thin ice and force the water out of the holes. If no other isolated holes in the area were puking water then you folks were mighty lucky to stay dry!

Video sucked. They did not even start fishing until 5.5 minutes into an 11 minute video. Airport scenes in videos are ok, but only when cut down to less than a minute...
