Default Catch and Release Catch and Keep Debates In Fishing Reports

I have said it before and I'll say it again, the C&R debates should not keep coming up in the "reports" area. I don't care which side you're on, people don't post reports to get chastised and I'm not going to tolerate it anymore. Any posts not complying with this will be removed.

I respectfully disagree with that thinking. The issues of selective harvest, building and maintaining quality fisheries, angler recruitment and retention, and managing for sustainabile quality fisheries are critical to the future of this sport in Colorado.

The topic of catch and release, and specifically what fish should be released and in what fisheries, is integral to any intelligent discussion of those issues.

Just because people have opposing opinions is no reason not to have the discussion.

Are you guys gonna get this thread deleted?!?

Don I agree with what you are saying, but also think those discussions are better suited for other places than someone's personal fishing report. Some people take a lot of time, put a lot of thought into, and really enjoy posting reports for other people to read, for a variety of reasons.

I just do not think differing opinions should make someone feel bad for spending their time and effort, offering tips, advice, and/or reports in the reports section and have their thread deleted or so hijacked that you can't find any helpful responses.

I think keeping the arguments seperate from the reports will go a long ways to getting and keeping people posting them. That's just my opinion.

Thanks Don B.

How about the mods create a category strictly for the C&R and fish handling debate. Then we can just leave all personal comments, opinions and views out of all other categories and make sure they stay where they belong.
