JWurgaft Ya I knew of some spots before the flood. With all the work and the damage you prolly just wann avoid the canyon totally. If you drive towards logn mont on 66 there's a large pond it will be on your right (mccall lake) that's an ok spot for some worm drownding. There's rainbows in there and a number of warm water species. That's one of the only places that comes to mind right around lyons without the river.

Opry99er 4-5 miles up the canyon there are some lovely holes that were absolutely great last Spring. St. Vrain can be a tough bitch, but once you learn a few of the spots and such, its automatic.

Well.... That was before the flood...

Where to fish near Lyons?

So I may be up in the Lyons area Saturday morning with most of the day to burn. First half of the day I will be solo, second half I will have my 6-year old so some shore fishing with worms the second half. Where should I fish?

I am not asking for special fishing spots (all though I will not turn them down via PM) but where is a decent place to fish out there? I will be bringing my fly fishing gear and my spin casting stuff. Worms, lures, fly's, whatever. I think the water will be too high for fly fishing but I may be wrong. Any tips on where I can go? A different place in the morning and afternoon is fine as well.
