Re: Taking the Kids out Thursday

You have to be careful up there most of them are private...to the property owners around them...most are posted but some are not...pretty much your choices in the area are Dowdy, West, Bellaire and Parvin (flies and lures only)...

Thanks zman there seems to be a lot of lakes up there I see some on the map but they don't have names maybe it's cause my map is small.

Red Feather Lakes, NW of Fort Collins about 50 miles, between Parvin Lake And Dowdy Lake, right on the turn to Dowdy Lake...

Re: Taking the Kids out Thursday

We had a great time at Golden Gate Park about 2 weeks ago. And hit Georgetown on Christmas Day. Ice is super thick up there - easily 10" in spots. Fish are kinda persnickety at Georgetown - small pink things, white things, and wax worms.

Have fun, either way.

Hey coloradojaguar, thanks for stopping by with the kid the other day. Nice talkin to ya. Nice pic of fish with the kid too. Hubby was laughing about that lady's ancient ice auger!

i was up at west lake today and action was nonstop, stocker RB's and small browns but all you could want, gauranteed to keep a kids attention, however the wind was howling today, probably would have needed a rope for the kids today, great place for kids if the weather is nice!

i would take them to aurora and fish the marina cove so get on the ice at the swim beach and go right into the cove! you can go to the end of the cove fish 10 fow and you can watch the perch swim around and take your jigs! they are not huge but the kids will love it! drill a hole in front of your bucket and another 8 inches in front of it you can watch the perch in the close hole and have your rod in the further hole! its a blast for the kids! have fun and be safe wherever you go!
