I just talked on the phone with the state fish biologist for Green Mountain Reservoir about the gill lice problem. He is aware of the gill lice and has no plan to change anything in lake management at this time. They have not changed the stocking schedule in the last few years and have no immediate changes in the plan at this time. This can change based on the condition of the kokes and the availability of fish to stock. He said the spawning fish are most likley to have problems because of their deteriorating condition as they try to spawn and then die. He believes the erratic late fall temperatures and the late ice formation may be responsibile for the absents of the kokanees in the usual spots.
