Re: Hooking yourself?

I've been addicted to a few times. The worst one, in what is happening in my boat is a 3-4 guy near the tree when I stick out, he grabbed his stick, he kicked the rogue, hook through his shoes and socks into his big toe .....

Re: Hooking yourself?

Well you guys.. I don't have any stories about hooking myself.. BUT I do have a story and a pic to share. Figured my picture can fit in with some of the ones already posted even though it's not a hook.

So.. back a few years ago me and a few friends drove down to Rocky Point Mexico from Arizona where we lived at the time.

Stopped at the market on the way to the beach where we were going to camp to pick up some squid and beer

Arrived down at the beach and started unloading.. set the crate of wood we had bought on the ground and thats when i noticed a bunch of fish were jumping just out from us.

So I jumped up adn grabbed the squid off the top of my homeboys VW bus and proceeded to run toward the water... When BAM!! Stubbed my toe on the wood crate OOOUCH!! I could tell i was cut Before i even looked down.... i expected to see a cut or my nail pulled back.. but this is what i saw:

I'll say it again... OOOUCH!! I couldnt believe my nail was just GONE!! i have stubbed my toes before and eventually lost the nail.. but never like this!! Nail wasnt anywhere to be found!! just clean GONE!!

And considering this was day 1 of a multiple day trip I had to just wrap it up with a bandage to keep the sand out.. and put a sock on over that to keep the bandage on while swimming.. in SALT water!! Felt really good on the toe for sure

Man- those are some sick pix!

I have been caught with several small hooks. After being caught in the flesh of my hand with a spinnerbait I started to de-barb my hooks before I use them. Especially if I am fishing with kids. That way I can pull them out of my hand/face/leg with only a small hole instead of ripping the flesh on the way out.

I just had one...usually get them every ten years on the decade...to make it easy to remember...was suprised when the doc said if you work outside in dirtier conditions where you get more cuts and stuff that it should be moved up to every 5 to 7 years...

Neal needs to pipe in here...I think he has four or five good hook jobs...usually with a good walleye attached...he called me one time from the spillway and said to bring a wire cutters and some vicodin...
