i work for havana auto parts and i wouldn't trust our machine shop to sharpen auger blades, they do real good with a lot of things as ed mentioned, but they don't know a thing about blade angles. i've been there 10 years so i've seen the processes. if it is a chipper blade(serrated) you might be able to touch it up with a file,(that's what i do with mine) if it's a knife edge blade, good luck, i,ve seen many blades ruined by people tring to sharpen them when they don't really know what they are doing. i'm thinking i might just take my hand auger to the mile, i've heard bad things about the dirt and gravel clarity of the ice there..

Re: auger blades

We've got them at Gander in Aurora, along with blades for the Mora and Lazer hand augers, Lazer Mag 8 and 10 inch power augers, and Mag 2000 10 inch power auger.

KK

Try calling High Country Bass Pro, Valley Country Tackle, or Bennetts...sometimes the out of the way places will have inventory that they never sold because people dont think of going there...also they may know of someone who sharpens auger blades...another idea is to email Terry Wicktrom on the Fan950...he might know of someplace that sharpens with all of his contacts...just a few ideas...

Re: auger blades

If you can wait a while, you can save a lot of money by doing a blade exchange thru the mfgr.
I have the same auger and just sharpened my blade. It was slow going as the steel is very hard. I used a 3 sided sharpening stone, it turned out real well.

Re: auger blades

Call over to Sportsmens in Thornton. I think I seen them there. If anyone knows where to get the 10 1/4 let me know. Can't find that one anywhere in the area.
