I did not see anything on his website or Chapparrel General Store's website about Jigging Machines.

Some of the 11 Mile stuff isn't listed though.

The guy's name is Larry, Give him a call.

I also didn't want to drop $300.00 on a new ice fishing fish-finder. I found a Humminbird Portable Fish-finder on Ebay for $70.00,including shipping. It is one of the 1990's models and it doesn't have the resolution of the new models. I have found that the lower resolution doesn't really matter in ice fishing. I can still see my jig, the bottom, and incoming fish. Larry

Thanks for the info. I did find out that Budget Tackle has a flasher to rent.

The link to the demo was very helpful.

Re: Fishing Gear Rentals

I use a Lowrance x67 and really like it. I bought it last year as an ice kit, and purchased a transducer for summer boat use. The Lowrances can be used in flasher mode, like a Vexilar, or in standard graph mode. Really nice unit, check it out.
They make an emulator that you can run on your computer to test drive it:

Re: Fishing Gear Rentals

I think the TFT ice machines by Lowrance are being touted as both...about the same price as a Vex I believe...

You can probably go to iceshanty.com and fishingminnesota.com and look at the product boards and find a thread from someone who has one...

Fishing Gear Rentals

Merry Christmas* Fisherpersons.

Before I drop a chunk o' change to buy a fish finder for ice fishing I wanted to try one out.* So far, the only one I found is the sport shop at 11 mile (Grand Lake).* They rent vexilars for $25 a day.* They also rent another brand that "can be adapted for icefishing".

Does anyone know where else ice fish finders can be rented?* Also, is a "Vex" really the creme de la creme as everyone touts?* So far, the research I have conducted on this site and on other sites say "Yes".

Is there one that is more of a dual* purpose ice/openwater fish finder?

Your input is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
