LostFedExMan Now that you mention it, I haven't seen any signs saying no boats either, and think I remember reading fishing reports about people floating it (Steel city anglers)... Actually, I even saw a few kayakers on it this summer. Sucks that the flows drop the day I see this thread, oh well. I'll be floating the gunny this weekend looking for some salmon. Next year we most definitely need to have a float trip down in Pueblo.

Cool vid BTW bugz, that river looks like a blast. Let me know if you plan on hitting up the Ark sometime over the next few months, if it's on a weekend I'll meet you there.

bugz I have seen people floating in inner tubes on the Ark in P-lo and have never seen any signs saying you can't boat it. Don't think there are any legal reasons why you can't run a small pontoon down it. Here is a video of some one kayaking one of the runs down the SF Payette that I used to take the 8 ft toon down minus fishing gear. Some strong eddy lines in there. Got stuck in one and run over by a 18ft raft.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5z7f6VT_fk

bugz F^%K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The flows have been between 1000cfs-600cfs for most of august. To high to wade but about perfect to float and fish. The past two days the flows were at 500cfs. Still floatable and still a bit high for good wade fishing. Today the flows are 360cfs and I get a reply.......

Dont think that will work as well in Pueblo. wanting to do that this summer when the water is up but fishable not wader friendly. I have run big idaho class 3 (Swirley canyon SF Payette) in the pontoon (bigger in my inflatable kayak) so I feel pretty comfortable running that stretch from the damn to the ww park(I have fished it all). Looking for someone who wants to join and help with the shuttle next summer.
I know this post is old, but you said for next summer anyways. I've got a personal pontoon and have been wondering if you are allowed to toon the ark in pueblo. I am more than interested in doing this next summer. The only reason I didn't give it a shot this summer is because I don't know anyone else that has a pontoon that could help shuttle back and forth from where we put in to where we get out. So most definitely, let's toon the ark next summer!..

I will be hitting up the ark in pueblo regularly from now and all winter long while everything else freezes over. So if you'd ever like a fishing partner let me know, I can go most every weekend and it'd be nice to meet a fellow fly fisherman.

bugz Oyey,

I will let you know. It has not come up enough yet and I am not sure how much of a window we will get before they open the taps on the res and it startsto flow at 1500 csf or more. What levels do you think we need? I am guessing about 400-600 hundred cfs. If you got a raft I would love to run some of the ark above the res and I dont mind rowing. I did rincon to valley bridge in my ducky last year. It was fun but I tried to fit it in after running bighorn canyon. I will do it again with time to stop and wade this year. Flows are about perfect to run a raft now.
