Not fancy but 1 1/2 hrs or so from the Springs, Spinney/Antero If it's open)/11 Mile, the Nightmare stream and quite a bit of good water on the Middle Fork of the South Platte quite close. Not a resort but good folks run this place and a lot of fishing in the area.

tarsa Keep in mind that May is runoff time on Colorado. So you probably want to be on a tailwater or lake.

joej I know that Lone Pine Realty has vacation rentals in the Red Feather Lakes area (about 3 hours from Springs). I'm not sure if they get you access to the private lakes or not, but there are 5 public lakes in the immediate area and it is about 20 minutes to the Poudre River.

Fishing Vacation Rental

I have just moved to Colorado and still trying to find my way around. I do an annual fishing trip every May with family and friends which I would like to move to this state in 2018, and I could really use some help in finding a location. I need a cabin, or cabins, to accommodate 6 - 8 guys, on, or very near some nice trout water - river or stream preferably, but won't discount lake. I live in Colorado Springs, so someplace within three or four hours from here would be ideal.

I really appreciate any insight you folks could give me to help narrow my search. Thanks so much!
