Re: Aurora Reservoir Walleye Pre-Spawn

In regards to RIP RAP in a-town there is only one area that I was ever able to find any and it was in the area of the spillway just east of the picnic area. Never caught any walleye ther early in the season though. Good luck, i'm looking forward to getting out there soon myself. No boat this year... can anyone say recession?

Re: Aurora Reservoir Walleye Pre-Spawn

it is a really long dam also! They spread out. There are also some points that have some gravel on them, but no big chunk rock.

The main thing out there, no matter what season it is. You have to have wind blowing into your area to really get them going shallow!!!!

I hate how Aurora doesnt have a riprap dam. Am not really sure where there is any riprap in A-town.

In the water, I would probably use a hotdog on a 20/0 circle hook in the deepest part of the lake

Last year they seemed to start late? The year before they were pretty much done by the last week of March. There are always straglers of course. I am talking bout the peak movement.

Walleyes at aurora should spawn in March through April.

LM at Aurora should spawn in mid-late June through august.

SM at Aurora should spawn in May

LM at Quincy spawn in late May early June.

SM at Quincy spawn in late April early June.

or at least this is when they spwned last year according to my log.

Aurora Reservoir Walleye Pre-Spawn

Hello everyone! I have been researching about the walleye spawn, and am really looking forward to getting out there and catching the first eyes of the season. Does anyone know where the eyes at Aurora spawn? Also, any additional tips about the spawn in the metro area would be helpful! Good luck out there guys!!!
