That's a cool video. Thanks for posting it.

It looks like you can get a 30#'er through a 6 inch hole.

Great video. Seeing the fish swim below the ice... Pretty Rad. I have yet to fish ice that clear.

That was interesting. Thanks for posting it, Hop. I agree, that fish looks to be in the 30 lb range.

Those guys had that fish out of the water waaaay too long, but they did practice good technique in the release, holding the fish by the tail until it had regained its equilibrium and strength before letting it go. As exhausted as it was, if they had just dumped it into the hole it would likely have gone belly up, sunk to the bottom, and died.

I agree, he is not handling that fish very good with putting his hands up its gills. It is a good video though. Thanks you for posting it.

Vid: Big Laker Through Ice (& Released)

I imagine this has already been posted on here, but for those who missed it I thought it would be exciting to see, as ice season dawns ...

At first it seems like a spoof video by a couple of yahoos, it's sooo 'rednecky' (almost reminds one of the movie "Fargo"). But it's actual, and that mac is real enough to whet the appetite of all you cold-footers hoping to hook a monster lake trout this time around. He mentions the figure of 20 lbs.; looks more like 30 to me. Thick across the back, plus fat through the belly.

There are a few things I don't like about what these guys do, but at least they release the trophy, so let's give them credit for that.

Here's wishing everyone a safe & super ice fishing season.
